Property Tax Levy

The majority of financing for public schools in Arizona is derived from property tax. The Primary property tax levy provides funding for the maintenance and operations of the school district. The Secondary property tax levy provides funding for bond issues and overrides passed by the voters of the district. The Maricopa County Superintendent of School's office works with several Maricopa County departments and the school districts to calculate both the Primary and Secondary property tax rates.
