The Risk Management Claims Division manages all Maricopa County property, vehicle, unemployment and workers' compensation claims, and liability claims filed against Maricopa County and its employees. The Claims Division is staffed with four full-time adjusters, a manager, and support staff.

Claims are investigated and evaluated, then either paid or denied on their merits. Litigated claims are assigned to counsel for assistance in such claims' defense. The Claims Division works with assigned attorneys to obtain the most favorable result possible for Maricopa County and its citizens. We are committed to fairly and reasonably settling claims owed while vigorously defending claims without merit.

Risk Management continually enhances its claim processes and procedures, and provides training and education to Maricopa County departments.
