For Kids
 |
Did you know that flu is more common in children than in adults? This is probably because, compared to adults, kids have had less lifetime exposure to influenza and therefore don’t have as much natural immunity to it. Kids also spend a lot of time in school, in close contact with other kids, so they have more opportunities to get and spread the virus than adults do.

- Rapid onset of high fever
- Dry cough
- Chills
- Muscle aches
- Headaches
- Vomiting, nausea, or diarrhea in young children
If Your Child Is Sick
If you suspect your child has the flu, see your doctor right away. Prescription antiviral medication is available to treat the flu, but treatment must begin with 2 days of contracting the illness.
Educate Your Kids
You can prevent the flu (and other illnesses) by practicing good
hand hygiene. Protect your family by teaching your kids the proper way to wash their hands.
