Do you want to feel better, have more energy, and create a healthier lifestyle? Then, the Women Together for Health program is for you!
A Registered Dietitian and a Health Educator lead the weekly sessions. The class format consists of hands-on, educational activities and encourages group support among participants. Weekly incentive items are provided to reinforce skills learned and to encourage attendance. Some of the nutritional skills that are taught include healthy food choices, portion sizes, grocery shopping tips, and recipe modification. Habits related to poor eating (such as stress eating) are covered, as well as current information on fad diets and dietary supplements.
Participants learn skills to improve their lifestyle in a fun, interactive environment. Free incentives are given to help increase physical activity which include but are not limited to step counters (pedometers), resistance bands, journals, pens, stress massagers, and water bottles.
One participant stated, "Ive enjoyed using the step counter and learning how much I'm moving each day."
Another participant commented, "The most important things Ive learned include eating more of a variety of foods, what triggers my overeating, and not to go backwards if you fall off the wagon forge ahead!"
Women Together for Health (WTFH) a FREE 10-hour program for women of child-bearing age (18-44 years old) and covers proper nutrition, healthy weight, physical activity, stress management, and tobacco use.
