Safe Kids Coalition of Maricopa County

What We Do

Accidental injury is a leading cause of death in children 14 and under. The Safe Kids Coalition of Maricopa County aims to prevent accidental childhood injury. We offer educational resources through coalition members in the various cities of Maricopa County.

Maricopa County Department of Public Health is the lead agency for the coalition titled Safe Kids Coalition of Maricopa County. Zoraida Ettrick, a Public Health employee, is the coordinator between the local Safe Kids Coalition and Safe Kids Worldwide. The local coalition was established as a non-profit organization in 1994 and comprises members from fire departments, police departments, hospitals, health departments and other agencies throughout the county.

Who We Are

Our coalition is one of over 300 grassroots coalitions in all 50 states that bring together health and safety experts, educators, corporations, foundations, governments, and volunteers to educate and protect families while working to prevent accidental childhood injury.

What We Offer

If you have a general issue regarding childhood injury, you may call (602) 506-6860, and you will be referred to the appropriate group who can help to solve the situation or provide educational materials.

Safe Kids holds various events, such as car seat check ups (where parents can bring their children and car seats to get checked). Safe Kids can also provide educational presentations to groups.

Come to a Safe Kids general membership meeting.
