Parent Support Center
Being a parent is one of life's joys, but it can also be a stressful job. When parents have access to information and support, they can reduce stress and optimize their child's development and enhance family functioning.
What We Do
The Parent Support Center provides education and case management services and serves as a community resource dedicated to strengthening families. The program is a collaborative effort between the Maricopa County Department of Public Health and Child & Family Resources, Inc.
What We Offer
We promote stronger families by providing education and social support within the home and community.
Through a combination of individual and group instruction, we provide parents and caregivers with education on the following topics:
-
Child growth and development
-
Discipline and boundary setting
-
Health and well-being
-
Stress management
-
Communication
-
Conflict resolution
-
Home management skills (budgeting, hygiene, safety, etc.)
We advocate on behalf of families by:
-
Assessing family needs (such as social, housing, financial, legal, education, employment, physical, health, mental health, and transportation)
-
Linking families to community resources (such as child care, counseling, medical services, nutrition, financial benefits, housing programs, educational and employment programs)
