Integrating Healthcare & Public Health
The mission of the Office of Healthcare Innovation is to facilitate access to integrated healthcare and preventive services that improve the health of Maricopa County residents. Areas of focus include access to healthcare and behavioral health services, access to public health programs via healthcare partners, and community-clinical linkages. Examples of some current projects include:
- Providing training for healthcare providers on how to approach the subject of quitting tobacco and how to refer tobacco users to the ASHLine (the Arizona Smokers’ Helpline), a free, telephone-based tobacco cessation program for Arizona residents;
- Working with employers to address the prevention and management of pain;
- Working with healthcare systems to facilitate patient access to chronic disease self-management programs; and
- Supporting employee health and wellness in behavioral health settings.
