The Planning & Development department regulates drainage of all land within the unincorporated areas of Maricopa
County to promote and protect the health, peace, safety, comfort, convenience and general welfare of county residents.
The Drainage Regulations apply to all development of land and conditions that may affect drainage systems and patterns.
The Planning & Development Department administers the regulations and coordinates with other agencies to ensure that
new development does not increase runoff, divert flows or back water onto other properties.
Recent Amendments to the Drainage Regulations occurred on February 7, 2007(TA2006010) and involved drainage requirements.
