Fee Schedule
The Planning & Development Department administers fee schedules approved by the Maricopa County
Board of Supervisors. The fee schedules for Addressing, Drainage, Building & Zoning are structured
to recover the cost of services provided.
An upfront fee is required for all projects/submittals accepted for review. The initial or upfront fee will be
deducted from the total amount due. The Upfront Fee List outlines the
most common permit types and the corresponding initial fee amount.
Several minor or more basic projects have a flat or set review and permit fee. List of Flat Fees by Project Type.
The calculation of the Building plan review and permit fee is based on a valuation model. A calculator
has been developed to provide an estimate of RESIDENTIAL Building review and permit fee.
NOTE: Drainage, Zoning and Addressing fees are not included
in the above calculation. The respective regulations may be found in the Resources tab under Regulations.
Commercial projects do not share the same fee schedule as residential projects
Reviews may be required from other County departments, i.e., Environmental Services for Onsite Wastewater,
Flood Control District, MCDOT, Stormwater and Air Quality. Each reviewing agency possesses a set of regulations
in which the assessment of fees are dependent on the level of review.
