Code Enforcement Hearings

The Code Enforcement Division of the Planning & Development Department is charged with enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance, Drainage Regulations and other Maricopa County codes and ordinances. When violations cannot be solved through normal channels of notice and compliance, a property owner may be summoned to an Enforcement Hearing and the matter viewed by a Hearing Officer. The Code Enforcement process and hearings are governed by the Arizona Rules of Civil Procedure. The public, including those who lodged the original complaint, may or may not be allowed to attend the Enforcement Hearing by the Enforcement Officer presiding over the matter.
