The Maricopa County Legal Advocate provides court-appointed legal representation to indigent clients. The Legal Advocate represents those accused of criminal offenses, children in juvenile dependency/severance actions and certain individuals facing civil commitment. The Office was established by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in 2000.
Our Mission is to provide quality, cost-effective legal representation to each client who is assigned to us by the court, thus safeguarding the fundamental legal rights of every member of the community.
