On-Site WasteWater Treatment Facilities (OSWTFS)
Maricopa County Environmental Services Despartment (MCESD), Water & Waste Management Division (WWM) receives it authority to administer the Aquifer Protection Permit Program, Type 4 General Permits by delegation from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ). Through this authority, MCESD is responsible for performing:
- Site investigations
- Soil evaluations
- Plan reviews
- Issuance of permits (Construction Authorization-CA)
- Construction inspections
- Issuance of approvals to discharge (Discharge Authorization-DA) for OSWTFs in Maricopa County
