Certified Food Manager InformationThis link opens a new page containing an Adobe Acrobat PDF document.

All food establishments handling open, potentially hazardous food must have one certified food service manager on staff per facility. Obtaining managerial certification is a two step process. The first step is to seek instruction and testing from any private sector instructor who offers one of the exams listed below The following companies write approved manager certification exams.THESE COMPANIES DO NOT GIVE THE EXAMS. THEY ONLY WRITE THE EXAMS. Call the phone numbers listed below to get information on how to find instructors who give these exams in the Phoenix area. The internet addresses can also be used to find this information. Maricopa County Environmental Health does not provide any testing for certified managers and has no association with any of these companies.

Once you've completed this first step, the second is to acquire a Certified Food Manager photo ID license from the Maricopa County Environmental Health Division. To do this, bring the original of your certificate of completion to one of our four offices as listed below. Offices are open Monday thru Friday from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm. All offices are closed on holidays. Offices are least busy in the mornings. The fee for the license is $ 5.00 cash. For additional information call (602) 506-2960.

Please note obtaining a new or renewing your current certification is the same process, you must complete the exam.
