 Community Development : Maricopa Home Consortium
The Maricopa HOME Consortium is a legal entity created through an intergovernmental agreement between MaricopaCounty ; the Cities of Avondale, Chandler , Glendale , Mesa , Peoria , Scottsdale , Surprise and Tempe ; and the Town of Gilbert . The Maricopa HOME Consortium was established for the purpose of receiving HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) and American Dream Downpayment Initiative (ADDI) funds through the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These funds are used to increase the supply of and preserve affordable housing within MaricopaCounty . Maricopa County Community Development is the lead agency of the Consortium, and administers the contract with HUD for the HOME/ADDI program.
Each Consortium member receives a pro rata share of the HOME/ADDI funds, and uses them to meet the needs and goals of their local community. These needs and goals are identified in the Consortiums Five Year Consolidated Plan and the Annual Action Plans.
