| Paul Petersen joined the Maricopa
County Assessor, Keith Russell, in January 2006 as Lobbyist and
Public Information Officer. Paul advises the Assessor on legal,
political and administrative issues and has successfully lobbied
property tax legislation that affects the Assessor’s Office.
He also liaison’s with the Maricopa County Attorney’s
Office for public records requests and administrative matters,
in addition to, handling general media requests and writing public
policy and procedures for the Assessor’s Office. Paul achieved
Level I Appraiser certification from the Arizona Department of
Revenue.
Prior to joining the Assessor, Paul established
his own law firm and also practiced with the law firm of Koglmeier,
Dobbins, Smith & Delgado in Mesa, Arizona. He assisted and
advised Maricopa County Supervisor, Don Stapley (District 2) in
his duties on the Board of Supervisors, in addition to supporting
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge, Honorable Michael D. Jones
with research and opinion writing.
Paul, a fourth generation Arizonan, graduated
from the Arizona State University College of Law in May 2002 with
his Juris Doctor and holds a B.A. in Journalism. He has been a
member of the Arizona Bar Association since October 2002. Paul
is an avid fan of the ASU Sun Devils and the Phoenix Suns. He
married his best friend, Raquel in 2006 and they are expecting
their first child in April 2008.
