Documentation

The type of documentation submitted to the Swimming Pools Program for review and approval of a project which involves the construction of or modification to a public and semi-public pool, wading pool or special use pool, spa or artificial bathing lake typically includes Engineering Calculations and Design Data, Design Drawings, and Technical Specifications. The Design Drawings must include a pool enclosure detail.

While this documentation may specify the design in sufficient detail to complete the design review and approval process, additional documentation may be required to be submitted to complete the project approval process.

Additional Information

See the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page for additional information regarding documentation and submission requirements for projects.

Document Sealing

If a project is submitted by a Professional Engineer or Architect then the following documentation, as a minimum, must be signed and stamped by the Professional Engineer or Architect:
  • Application
  • Construction Certification Letter - As required on the certificate form.
  • Design Drawings - Each Individual Design Drawing Sheet.
  • Engineering Calculations and Design Data - As required by the Swimming Pools Program or by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration's rules and regulations.

Engineering/Architectural Firm Registration

The engineering or architectural firm must also be registered with the State Board of Technical Registration. It is recommended that engineers and architects submitting documentation to the Swimming Pools Program contact the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration if they have any questions about the rules and regulations related to sealing documentation.
